Remember this little horseshoe wreath mirror thingy that I created?
Well, I was pretty much dying to find it a home. I thought about using it in my guest bedroom, but I kinda wanted to be able to see it in a room that I use on a more regular basis. So, I decided to tweak the mantel yet again. This time I was going for light and airy. Something really simple and clean as opposed to what I had going on there before.

If I was a really good blogger I would have filled the bucket with branches or firewood before taking this photo, but I’m just not that good 🙂 It was raining peeps – what can I say? |
I’m really liking this new look. I’m usually one of those peeps that likes to fill in every single inch with something, but lately I’ve been warming up to more of a clean open space look. It’s kind of nice not to have so many little things to clean too 🙂
Anyhow, I just used things I already had. I used a drinking glass as a small planter.
I just filled it with some river rocks (dollar store)

I made a couple of these. You’ll have to wait to see where I put the others 🙂 |
and then added a little potting soil and moss (Michaels) and planted this cute little green plant.
I have no idea what kind of plant this guy is, but he’s cute and I hope I can keep him alive 🙂
So, this is what I’ve been doing ’round here. Spending my time doing things that don’t really need to be done rather than tackling the big projects that are screaming my name. Avoidance is my game 🙂 I need to face my fears though – more on that later.
Oh, and I’ll be back sometime tomorrow (don’t hold your breath though) with some pics of the office with it’s new beeeeeauuuuutiful new bamboo floor!!!! Now that the sawdust is gone, the room is clean, and the furniture/ accessories are back in place I am so in love! Seriously LOVE! Can’t wait to show you! Pray for sun so I can get some good photos for you!
One last look at my horseshoe wreath mirror thingy – that I heart with a capital H!

It looks really good! I like the simplicity of the slender candlesticks and the horseshoes:)
