For over a year…….

I have loved this chandy from Ballard Designs.

Genevieve Chandelier

Have you met Genevieve?  I just knew that Genevieve would fit right in at my house.  She’d be comfortable here, and I would take very good care of her.  I wanted her to come live in my entry foyer to replace Mrs. Williamsburg.

A nerf dart knocked one of the shades off months ago, and I never bothered to put it back on (in case you were wondering why a chandy hat is missing).

No offense to Mrs. Williamsburg.  It’s not you it’s me.  I put a little money in the Genevieve fund each month until I had enough money to buy her and have her shipped.  Here she is in her new home – my entry foyer!

(It’s crazy how much the wall color changes at different times of day depending on the lighting.)

I adore her, especially because I patiently waited until I could afford to buy her.  I didn’t make any rash decisions and break the bank or settle for something other than what my heart really wanted in this space.  Plus, I plan to Craigs List Mrs. Williamsburg so hopefully I’ll get a little something back.

I love the antique vibe she adds to the entry foyer.  It’s hard to tell from these photos but the glass beads catch the light so beautifully!  She was well worth the wait.

Have you been saving for anything special?  It’s hard to wait, but it’s so worthwhile!

*Once again, no this is not a sponsored post.  I wish!

  • OH Carmel,

Miss Genevieve truly suits your foyer, she adds an touch of simple elegance and sparkle! Now we shall wait for Mrs. Williamsburg to find a new home, one where she can add a bit of country charm and whimsy!

  • oh wow! She is a beauty!! and so funny about the nerf dart- we have those too! I find the in the most random places!

  • I just started following your blog and was fun to see you are living in KY! Us too! We are on the hunt for a first time home since we are getting married in October. Loved your house tour by the way ๐Ÿ™‚

  • And even her *name* is so pretty! Genevieve…she looks like she is going to be happy in her new home. And color me *SUPER* impressed about the saving…I'm pretty sure my parents tried to teach me that, but I still usually just freak out and buy stuff right away. *sigh* I'll grow up someday, right? • No never – I hired someone to paint. I'm too scared to get on a ladder that tall. Plus I'd have to rent a ladder to get up that high and the rental fee sort of defeats the purpose of doing it myself.

  • Hi..love Genevieve..quite gorgeous! Thinking of having her come to my two story foyer also…question ..we have same PB light in our dining room as you do in your breakfast room, so it would be seen from foyer, do you think the two (geneivieve & PB light ) would compliment eachother or is it too much? Thank you..Shannon
