a handmade thanksgiving mantel

I recruited some help in decorating our mantel for Thanksgiving this year.

After the kids got their craft-ernoon on, I did my own simple craft project.

Then I put our craftiness together for our Thanksgiving mantel.

This might be my favorite mantel look of the whole year! The pumpkins the kids painted make so ridiculously happy!

And even the red hand prints my daughter left all over the driveway are starting to grow on me.

I think you are the only one (besides myself) that is publishing Thanksgiving posts. Everyone else has moved on to Christmas. Makes me a little sad. So, thank you for all your wonderful Fall and Thanksgiving awesomeness.

I've been thinking non-stop about Christmas decor, but I refuse to decorate until after Thanksgiving as well! However when it snowed this morning it's really pulling at me. I'm staying strong though!!

Oh I have Christmas ideas swirling in my head – but no actual decor out yet.

I gotta be honest…decorating for Christmas before Thanksgiving really bugs me. It's partially because I think each holiday should have its time and partially because the people who decorate early are usually the ones who brag about having it all down on the 26th while I'm celebrating the twelve days of Christmas leading to the Epiphany. It's such a magical time and I don't like to short change it!
