Dipped Thonet Chairs

Sometimes you go thrifting and you come home with nothing.  And other times you hit the jackpot and find all sorts of good stuff!

I can’t even tell you how long I had been on the look out for a set of Thonet chairs.  I knew even before we had a screened deck built that I wanted 4 of them to go around a rustic table.  You know how sometimes you just have a vision?  I think I literally spit on them to keep anyone else from buying them.  #notreally #butmaybe

I loved them pretty much as is and just wanted to reupholster them with an outdoor fabric and dip their legs in a little white paint.

This is a Tommy Bahama outdoor fabric I picked up at JoAnn Fabrics.  I covered right over the top of the green vinyl.

  • Love the look! And your wreath hanger is so adorable. I'm gonna go look at my Lowes. Wherever did u fins that trash can? When I lived in Virginia I used to look for all the horse, fox, and hunt scene items. I even wallpaper my bathroom with the hunt scene paper once. Don't have these now but still love the look. Target has deer placemats and some holiday serving pieces too. I think antlers are the big thing now.

  • Yaaay for bentwood chairs. I love them so much. But then again I may be just a little biased:) I love that you dipped the legs and I cant wait to see the rest of the space either!!

  • Those chairs are such an incredible find! So excited {and maybe even a bit envious} for you and can't wait to see them in your space! Those dipped legs are dreamy!

  • Hello – I know you made these chairs for yourself but I'm wondering if you would consider selling them (or making a new set?). I love them… they are so different than anything else I've seen! If this is a possibility, you can reach me at hallkm1@yahoo.com. Thanks so much!
