Hey friends! Today I’m participating in a Christmas Tour of Homes hosted and organized by Chris at Just a Girl! I love online home tours. Anytime I can tour a bunch of homes decked out for the holidays in my pj’s with no make-up on from the comfort of my cozy couch I’m one happy girl! You feel me on this right?!
I’m not a Griswold. I wish I was, but stringing lights in 20 degree weather doesn’t sound like a Merry Christmas to me – or to my man. So I go with easy outdoor holiday decor – 2 strands of lights, some lanterns, and a fresh wreath and greens from my favorite local garden shop. Five minutes of freezing my bootie off – and I’m over and out – and back inside!
I don’t love cold weather, but oh my do I love me some snow. It’s a weird love hate thing.
Alright already stop peaking through the front door! Come on in – it’s cold outside – hurry up and get your tails in here!
The greeting on my chalkboard wall usually says – Be Nice or Leave – we’re a snarky bunch around here. I changed it up as Santa wanted me to. It’s a nice reminder for the kids.
(chair makeover featuring my favorite gold spray paint)
I bought the santa hat chair topper at an after Christmas sale at Target 20 years ago – okay- not 20 but close.
The little table in my entry foyer is where I stash mints for guests. They’re in that little box on the mirrored tray. We believe in peace on earth and fresh breath for men (and women).
Moving into the family/living room, I kept it all pretty traditional.
White Beauty lives on our mantel year round. She got a whimsical holiday makeover.
The only new decor this year is the tree. I got a new fake tree. It’s 9 feet of awesomeness, and I love every last inch of it.
I love bringing out old Christmas photos. My babies are getting so big, and seeing Christmas photos from years past makes me realize how important it is to treasure my time with them while they’re still young.
It’s for this reason that I reigned myself in this year, and I kept the decor in other areas of my home really really simple. I want to spend more time snuggling this year, so I did less decorating.
In my dining room I went with just a bowl of ornaments and some fresh greens in hurricanes.
I love the simplicity!
So we’ve come to the end of tour today folks. Thanks so much for stopping by. If you came from Rhoda’s house (Southern Hospitality), welcome! Be sure to check in tomorrow when Kim (Sand and Sisal) will be welcoming you into her holiday home!
If you missed any of the other houses on tour today you can check them out here:
I’ll be sharing more details about my Christmas tree – as well as the kids tree in the basement – tomorrow. So be sure to stop back by!
