In my opinion labels are to organization what jelly is to peanut butter, salsa is to mexican food, bacon is to everything. 😉 I mean, if you want to organize anything………… you should totally put a label on it – am I right? The cuter the label, the happier I am; and it really doesn’t get much cuter, in my opinion, than a wood cutout. They cost practically nothing and you can find them in all shapes and sizes at pretty much any craft store. Plus, you have tons of options to customize them to fit your style and needs. I picked up these little cuties at Michaels.
I loved that they already had two little holes at the top to make them easy to attach to bins for labeling, but I could have used a drill to do this myself if they hadn’t come with holes. I used craft paint, washi tape and stickers to customize them. Then attached them with twine to plastic bins for organizing the kids bathroom cabinet.
I know it may seem silly to get excited about cute labels, but taming the chaos and keeping things orderly around here is what keeps me sane. Labels also help my kids to know where to put things which saves me time and energy too!
This isn’t the first time I’ve gone crazy for labeling with wood cutouts. I used them to wrangle my craft supplies and also to label fabric bins in my boy’s closet. I painted those with chalkboard paint – go check it out. For the easy tutorial on how to make a back-of-the-cabinet-door hair bow holder click here. Do you go cuckoo for the wood cutouts at the craft store like I do? How do you use them?
your calling in life is pretty organization. seriously.
