screened porch/deck reveal

Well it’s been almost a year since I first blogged about our plans to have our deck roofed and screened.  I’ve shared updates and sneak peeks along the way, and today I’m finally revealing the whole space!  I’m so thrilled with our new outdoor space!  We spend so much time out here!

As a reminder this is how our old deck looked from this same viewpoint.
We liked our old deck, but being that it was almost 30 years old, even though it doesn’t look like it in the above photo, it was in need of some major repair.  Many of the boards needed to be replaced and while we contemplated just building a new deck, we thought we’d probably use this space a whole lot more if it were screened………….and we’d sort of always dreamed of having a house with a screened in outdoor space…………..so we went for it and we honestly couldn’t be happier!  Bugs are so bad here in Kentucky, and it’s so nice to be able to enjoy being outside without having to hose yourself down with bug spray.
And now I’ll shut up and just show you a boatload of pictures.  ðŸ˜‰

  • This is beautiful!!! I love the gold/brass side table. Where did you find it? I've been on a hunt for something like that for awhile now and would love it if you could point me in a good direction!! Thank you

  • Beautiful space! I love that it's big enough to lounge in AND also eat in!! I would live there all summer long. I've been jonesing for a screened-in porch forEVER. Can I ask what the dimensions are? It looks to be the perfect size. Also, is there a door/stairs that lead to your yard, or is there only access from inside the house?

  • It's not an outdoor tv. Being in the center of the room it doesn't get too exposed. We just leave it outside over the winter – so far no issues but it's only been through one winter.

  • I think it's 14 x19 – maybe just a tad larger. It's not much larger than what our old deck was but it feels so much larger because their is no walkway – the screen doors are on the front of both sides so the entire space is usable for living.

  • I love all of this. We are starting to prepre ours for the warmer months. Do you happen to remember where your window panels are from? Thanks so much!!!

  • The porch is wonderful and Love the way you decorated it. Where did you find the gold pineapple and campaign trunk for the coffee table?
