I’m a big fan of furniture in a bathroom. I like the way a little piece of furniture in a bathroom can make the space feel a little less utilitarian. So even though our powder room is on the small side, I really wanted to bring in a little table. While perusing the aisles of TJ Maxx, I found a table that I knew would work well size wise, but I wasn’t crazy about the finish. I liked the look of the rustic wood, but I wanted to lighten it up a little so that the color of the wood wouldn’t blend in so much with floor.
This was the easiest little furniture makeover! I’m not even kidding, it took me all of about 5 minutes………..okay maybe 10. I used a little DecoArt chalk paint in the color Everlasting. I love that you can conveniently find this paint at your local craft store. It’s so great for a quick makeover too…………no sanding…………no priming! I used a dry brush and just lightly went over the whole table with horizontal brush strokes.
Then, for my favorite part, I used these gorgeous ring pulls that I bought a while ago when they were on sale. (Sometimes it pays to be a hardware hoarder.) I used my favorite glue of all time (E6000) to adhere them. That glue works like a charm every time!
The little side table is so not a necessary bathroom essential, and yet it is so very necessary and essential in this bathroom. Does that make any sense?! 😉 Do you like the look of furniture in a bathroom? Have you ever used DecoArt Chalk Paint?
Woohoo! This little powder room makeover is almost done!
love the addition of hardware! it looks fab!
