It’s time once again for my monthly book review. October’s book was The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin.
What a great read this turned out to be! It was not at all what I expected. The basic premise of the book is that A.J. Fikry, a lonely book store owner who lost his wife, finds a baby left in his store with a note. I thought for sure this was going to be a quick, predictable read. I figured I’d skim through and move right along………but oh my……….this story is filled with lots of twists and turns…………it was a page turner that kept me engaged to the very end.
I highly recommend this one! This is what I love most about being in a book club – you end up finding and reading books you never would have picked on your own!
November’s book is The Good Girl by Mary Kubica. It sounds like a really good one. I can’t wait to dive in to this story!

What have you been reading lately?
I was just as surprised by this book. It is not a book I probably would have chosen, but so glad it was.
