kirkland’s decor the halls – – – – – – – – – – – – – – holiday sideboard vignette & giveaway

I’ve teamed up with Kirkland’s and a few other amazingly creative bloggers in a surprise holiday decorating challenge.  They sent each of us a box with the same products and asked us to create a holiday mantel or vignette.  I felt like a kid on Christmas morning when my Kirkland’s package  arrived!  I opened the package to find two of the sweetest glass lanterns, one larger sized glass lantern with a natural rope handle and a little chalkboard easel.  I decided to use these pieces to create a holiday sideboard vignette.  

I put this vignette together on the built-in beverage station/sideboard in our basement.   My family has been spending a lot of time snuggled up on the big sectional in our basement watching Christmas movies, and nothing goes better with a little holiday movie watching than something sweet.  Am I right?!  A festive dessert bar makes movie watching even more fun and definitely makes the kiddos merrier! 

The generous folks at Kirkland’s also sent along a gift card for me to choose a few other goodies to complete my vignette, and I fell head over heels for Mr. Deer Head.  I hand painted the white plaque on the wall to help him stand out from the wall color.  

I’m just slightly obsessed with him.  Can you tell?  

I’m also crazy about this little cutie.  A chalkboard easel is such a great addition to a holiday buffet!  

I like to bake but sometimes it’s just easier to let the bakery do their thing.  To dress up these plain bakery-bought cupcakes I cut some paper straws in half and glued a pom pom to the end – simple, easy and fun. 

These sweet little milk glasses hold just the right amount, and they’re the cutest things ever!

Tis the season to snuggle, watch movies on the Hallmark channel and eat sweets!
