Remember about a month ago when I shared my plans for the entry foyer? I shared a few of the art options I had considered for the space. I knew I wanted a large scale framed print to go over the bench. I wanted something simple but quirky, something that had meaning but was fun. I think of a foyer as your home’s first impression, and those of you who know how our foyer looked in our last house know that I’m not afraid to go bold. This house’s foyer isn’t as grand as our Lexington house. It has a larger footprint but doesn’t have the vaulted ceilings or a staircase. (Our staircase in this house is off the kitchen.) So long story short, after sifting through lots of options I decided to go with this fun, slightly quirky, meaningful pineapple print.
With the pineapple being a symbol of hospitality I thought this print felt appropriate for our entry foyer. I just love how fun and happy this print is. I wanted to play up the black and white in this space, so I had it framed in a black wood frame; I really love the contrast. I also chose to have the print signed in pencil. It’s kind of hard to see in pictures but it adds a little more originality.
For the wall beside I opted to go with two simple black on white abstract prints. Here to let the art rather than the frame stand out I chose to go with a very thin muted satin gold frame. This way against the grasscloth wallpaper the frame slightly disappears and only the art captures the eye.
One of the things I love about ordering art prints via Minted is that you can not only learn a little about the artist behind the work, but you can play around with lots of different frame options. It’s really nice to be able to see how your print will look framed before you receive it as it just takes a bit of the guess work out of the equation. Then when your order arrives you’re ready to hang your beauties on the wall!
I’m finishing up with the foyer this week and can’t wait to share a full reveal next week! Slow but steady wins the race, right? It’s amazing to me how much just hanging the artwork made the entry feel more finished and fun. It gave the whole space a nice dose of personality and was the perfect little cherry on top after finishing up with the wallpaper.
I’ll share more about the striped wall vases tomorrow! Light fixture found here. The bench is an oldie but goodie from West Elm. (See how it looked in our last house in the closet I transformed into a mudroom.) Basket is old from Target. Black and white ceramic planter from Ace Hardware. Plants from Lowe’s……let’s hope I don’t kill them.
*Thanks to Minted for partnering with me on this post. My love for these prints is real and genuine as I only ever work with brands I truly love and know that you will love too!
Amazing work! thanks for sharing with us.
