You may remember a few weeks ago when I announced that I was once again partnering with Lowe’s Home Improvement to makeover a space in one Charleston, SC area home. With so many applicants and projects submitted it was tough to make a selection. In a dream world we could do home makeovers for every applicant! Honestly, I’d like to personally thank each of you who submitted spaces; it’s such an honor that you wanted to work with me to makeover a space in your home!
The space that was chosen for this fall makeover belongs to the Bellings.  Their story really struck a chord with me, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to refresh their living room just in time for the holidays! Tom Belling is a Navy man now working for the Charleston County Police Department, and his wife Jenny sent in their makeover application. She mentioned that they’ve had a pretty tough year and a makeover would really lift their spirits. Their living room just doesn’t match their personality at all. They’re a fun loving couple, but you’d never know that from the current state of their living room.
It’s a mismatch of hand me downs and furniture pieces that have past their prime (her sofa is literally falling apart), and they’ve had a hard time figuring out where to start and how to create a space they’ll both really love. They want a living room space that feels warm, inviting and happy. From the Pinterest board I had Jenny put together to get to know her design style I’d say she likes a farmhouse meets coastal look. This is the design board I’ve created for her living room, and I’m happy to report both Bellings are on board with this plan!
I’m using this rug as the inspiration piece for this space. It’s hard to tell from this picture, but apart from the fun color palette it also boasts some really great texture. The walls will go light blue-ish green, and the mantel surround will be given an update with white paint. I have a few fun little diy’s planned for this space! If you want to stay up to date with the behind the scenes peeks you can follow along on Instagram stories. I made a blanket ladder over the weekend that will be used as functional art in this space. I can’t wait to see this makeover project come to life! It’s always such an honor to participate in these types of projects!
Thanks again to all who applied! I hope you’ll follow along as I work with the Lowe’s volunteer team to give the Bellings a living room space they’ll love!
Love the direction you are going. Can’t wait to see how it turns out. Just an FYI, I happened to be a Target today and they are currently carrying several Beauty Counter products!
