Christmas Happenings

I can hardly believe Christmas is in just 5 days!  I’m mostly prepared with just a couple more gifts to purchase, but I’m planning to slow way down this week and just enjoy my kids being home from school.

-We kicked off their holiday break by picking them up early from school on Friday and going to see Rogue One!  We are totally that family that wears their Star Wars attire to the movie theater……because duh!

We all LOVED the new movie!  So much so that we came home from the movie, changed into pj’s and plopped ourselves down on the sofa to watch Episode IV.  #starwarsobsessedmuch

-I’m seriously considering leaving my exterior Christmas lights up until the middle of January.  I mean they’re basically the only good thing about daylight savings time.  #youknowimright

-The hubs and I took a quick overnight trip to attend a holiday work party.  I decided to wear my basic black dress and give it a festive look with a fun, new pair of heels.  #newshoesarealwaysagoodidea

-My Christmas wish is that my kids learn to start the question, “What’s for dinner?’ with the word “Dad”.  😉

-My obsession with the mini boxwood wreath knows no bounds.  I feel like they add the perfect amount of festive to just about anything, but I especially love them hung on a mirror.

-As a birthday present to myself, I ordered house portraits from Emily at Texture Design Co. Having these done for all the houses we’ve called home over the years is just so special.  I’m so in love with them!  She captured each one perfectly.  I can not wait to get them framed!

-I have to confess I’m a full on cocktail napkin hoarder.  My favorite place to find them?  HomeGoods!  Seriously, they always have the most fun collection!

-I’m kind of kicking myself for not buying this shirt.  How perfect is it?  😉

What do you all have on your radar this week?  Travel plans?  Holiday parties?  Do tell!  I have a feeling I’ll be doing lots of movie watching in my pj’s!  #mykindofholiday

  • We always leave lights up until mid january-or february – seems like most of the neighbors do too! Just assumed that is what most people did. We live outside of Boston, where there are fewer hours of daylight than down south – perhaps we just need the light more!
