Gold corners on frames? Â I know. Â You’ve maybe, more likely probably, seen this done before. Â Nevertheless, it’s a great, super simple and uber easy way to give a store-bought frame a chic makeover. Â A quick stop in a hardware store to grab some campaign-style hardware (or grab some brass corner braces online here) and you’ll be well on your way to knocking this little diy project out of the park. Â No matter your level of diy skills, you can absolutely do this! Â And the result is a custom look for a nominal expense.
The DIY Details
In addition to the frames and hardware, you’ll need a pen or pencil, a drill and a screwdriver.
The process of attaching the gold corner braces to the frames is really simple.
1. Line up your braces exactly where you want to attach them. Â Then mark the holes with a pen or pencil.
2. Pre-drill before attaching the screws. Â Be careful not to drill all the way through to the other side of the frame. Â If you’re new to using a drill you may want to do this out in your garage or put something down to cover your work area.
3. Once the holes are drilled, you’re ready to attach the braces.  Place all four screws in about half-way and set the brace exactly where you want it before screwing them all the way down.  *Little tip – If you skip this step and screw them in one by one without putting all four in half-way first the brace will probably not lay in the exact position you want it to.  So be sure to put all four screws in and set your brace exactly as you want it before screwing them all the way down.  Trust me on this.  😉
The Finished Look
The smallest details always make such a huge impact in a space.  The addition of the gold corner hardware on these frames perfectly highlights these vintage Charleston prints I sourced on Etsy for our guest bedroom.
I’m working on final touches now, and I can’t wait to share the full reveal of this space very soon!
(teal velvet, desk lamp , leopard pillows – HomeGoods, red linen tufted bed, campaign desk )
How much fun is that little “reserved” needlepoint pillow for a guest room?! Â I’m in love with it! Â That’s totally normal right?
Love the looks of these frames! Your vintage prints are a cool addition to the guest room and look so nice.
