master bedroom – bedding remix

If there’s a room in our house that I’ve struggled to finish decorating it’s definitely our master bedroom.  I think it’s because I’ve never been 100% happy with the bedding mix.  As much as I love an all white bed, I crave pattern, texture and a little color.  Though I want a serene bedroom that looks and feels like a soft place to land at the end of the day, I don’t want the design of the space to be a total snooze-fest.  😉

The Perfect Print

If you follow me on Instagram and you saw my Instagram Stories this past Friday you got an up close sneak peek of my new euro shams.  I’ve long loved this palm print bedding from Frontgate, and so a few weeks ago when I noticed there was a 30% off sale on top of the already reduced pricing I jumped at the chance to add some of this gorgeous pattern to our bedding.

The little hint of grey leopard/cheetah mixed in to this palm leaf print ties in so perfectly with the wall color – SW Amazing Grey.  I feel like I’ve finally found the perfect print to marry all of the colors in our master bedroom.  Cream, grey, green, blush and black are all represented in this one print.

I wanted a lumbar pillow in the same palm print as the euro shams.  Unfortunately Frontgate doesn’t sell a lumbar in this print.  So instead I ordered one king-sized pillow sham and am planning to have a seamstress make me a lumbar cover from the material.   For now it’s just loosely wrapped around an insert.  I’ll probably have the lumbar cover made with black piping to tie in with the black border shams and duvet from Crane & Canopy.

I only have two sheet sets for our bed – one blush set and one white.  But I like to have fun with mixing and matching different pillowcases.  Less expensive than a complete set and they add so much to the mix.  I’m a sucker for details and anything monogrammed gets me every time!

Now I feel like this room is really starting to come together.  I really love the way this palm print feels like an extension of what’s going on just outside.

Slowly but surely……albeit more slow than sure 😉 ……this room is inching closer to that elusive design finish line.  It’s definitely becoming a place I never want to leave…..pajamas included.
