If you’ re following me over on Instagram then you already know that last week I joined six of my favorite design blogger friends to host a fashion style series featuring our favorite summer looks. It was fun to branch out from the usual diy and design related posts to share more of our personal style. Fashion and design are so closely intertwined. I often tell clients that are struggling to figure out their design style to look to their wardrobe for cues on what colors, patterns and textures really speak to them.

(floral tee, white maxi, espadrilles)
Every day last week each of us posted a new look on Instagram, and now to end the series with a bang we’re offering a fun giveaway! One lucky person is going to win a $150 Nordstrom Gift Card!!!!
The good news is it’s not too late to enter! You have until 1 pm today EST! So hurry and head over to my Instagram for all the details on how to enter.
My Summer Style
And in case you missed this Instagram style series or you’re just now joining Instagram (in which case, what are you waiting for?!), here’s a little recap of the summer looks I shared. My summer style can basically be summed up as casual and comfortable (read -with lots of room for extra guacamole 😉 ) and fun feminine detailing.
(off shoulder top, linen-blend shorts, hat, sandals, necklace – similar, favorite red lip, secret to “bronzed” legs)
I’m a big fan of the off shoulder look. This top is like a step up from your basic white tee but just as comfortable.
White is a big player in my summer wardrobe. It’s just so easy to mix and match with everything. This cute little skirt had me at pom moms! And you can dress her up (she’s nicely lined) or keep her really casual. That makes her a total win in my book!
(skirt, striped tee, sandals, bracelet -vintage, sunnies – old Persols, plaid doormat, pink planter)
When it comes to bathing suits, I’m a fan of rushed high-waisted bikini bottoms. I dig the vintage vibe and so appreciate the coverage they provide!
(bandeau, high-waisted bottoms, sunglasses, hat, girl’s red suit)
I wrapped up my summer style looks by sharing my all-time favorite brand of pjs. I stumbled across this brand at Target years ago, and they have never let me down. Their current line of summer pjs are the best yet!
But of all the looks I shared last week, this one is probably my favorite. I just love the detailing on this comfy tee!
You wouldn’t think a statement piece like this would be so versatile, but I’ve been getting tons of wear out of it!
(paired with the poppy linen-blend shorts pictured up above, vintage bracelet, super old belt I’ve had for like a thousand years)

Loving the IG series. And I completely agree that crisp white is definitely a summer staple.
