Bedding Details – Give Me All The Pillowcases!

Complete sheet sets?  I only have a few.  I just don’t think it’s necessary to have more than a couple of sets for a bed.  Although I am a huge fan of bedding details.  But keeping my linen closet neat and tidy keeps me sane, and having lots of extra linens…..or lots of fitted sheets to fold just isn’t conducive to keeping an organized linen closet.  At least it isn’t for me.

But pillowcases?  They don’t take up much room at all, and they’re easy to fold.  So companies that sell pillowcases separately from their fitted and flat sheets get two thumbs up from me!  I just love special details in a bedroom, and pillowcases are fun to mix and match with different sheets.  I tend to go with plain white or solid colored sheets (my blush set is currently on sale!) and then play with patterned pillowcases.  It’s always the smallest details that make me smile most when it comes to decorating!

Patterned Pillowcases

There are so many great bedding sales going on right now, so I rounded up a few of my favorite pillowcases in case any of you are fellow fanatics.

I think I’m partial to the gold leaf pineapples, but the blue floral is so pretty you wouldn’t even need pillow shams!  And they’re both priced so well!

Target is currently offering 10% off bedding with code JULY so it’s a great time to bring in some color and pattern or just stock up on good solid basics.  My girl has had this flamingo sheet set for over a year, and they are the softest not to mention the cutest……kind of wish they came in a king size!  🙂

This zebra set is kind of tempting, but she really doesn’t need another whole set of sheets.

Bedding Favorites

Dressing a bed is tops on my list of favorite things to do when it comes to decorating.  Bedroom designs are really fun to me, probably because I love playing with patterns, colors and textures.  Not only am I a big fan of patterned pillowcases, but I also love incorporating reversible duvets and quilts whenever possible.  They offer a wide variety of looks without spending any more.

What attracted me to this large buffalo check duvet I scored at Bed, Bath & Beyond for my guest bedroom, apart from just loving the pattern and color…..and the awesome clearance price, was the fact that it’s reversible.

Here it is with the buffalo showing……..

And just by flipping it to the small checked side I’ve got a whole new look.

Little change, big impact and no extra money spent to create a fresh look.  That’s my decorating jam right there!

Here are few fun reversible duvets and quilts I found that are all from Target.

And I’m really in love with this quilt!  I don’t have a place for it in my home, but somebody needs to snag this cutie while it’s on sale!

Any fellow pillowcase hoarders out there?  😉  Please tell me I’m not alone!  I just ordered this silly set to give to my hub for our anniversary.

  • hmmm I like linens so we have a good many. 🙂 It’s just the two of us and a guest room that is not used often. So, I do have several sets for our bed, just a couple for the guest room. I like variety and I kind of think about switching out your sheets is extending their life. I like very small prints or neutrals. Off-white, but not white. I do have a few extra pillow cases and actually a few extra top sheets (print) that can go with a solid flat sheet. I fold the fitted sheets as neatly as I can, but then I have a huge storage basket in the linen closet that they are all stacked in, so they don’t look messy! ha! solved that one.

  • Great round up. Love all the checks. We have a good size stack of pillow cases. My girlfriend used to send embroidered holiday ones for my girls. Always fun pulling those out. I brought home two sweet sets of embroidered ones after my MIL passed away, too pretty to just let go.
