Happy Valentine’s Day y’all! Today seems like the perfect day for a little ode to one of my favorite color combinations ~ pink and red! I’ve long loved a good pink and red color combo when it comes to interiors. But really my love for this color duo all started with Strawberry Shortcake. I legit had Strawberry Shortcake everything as a kid; sheets, vanity, lunchbox, all the things. So there’s something about this pairing that feels a little nostalgic for me.
Do y’all remember my little pink and red powder bathroom in our Kentucky home?
If we still lived in that house, I’d still be rocking that wall and ceiling color. True love doesn’t care about what’s on trend. 😉 Which is why when I stumbled across this sweet little vintage kids chair at a local thrift shop, I knew exactly what color I wanted to paint it.
Rachel Pink for the Win
Like the terrible blogger that I am I completely forgot to snap a before picture of this little chair. But imagine an old. unfinished wood chair. What attracted me to this little cutie was the red metal hardware! I fell head over heels in love. The metal hardware makes the chair so sturdy, but also so super cool. Of course with the red hardware I immediately thought pink would be the perfect color choice to give this little old chair new life.
She came out so cute I can hardly stand it!
This is actually the same shade of pink I have on my front door (Rachel Pink by Sherwin Williams). And I love how warm this shade of pink is. She plays really nicely with this cherry red hardware.
I plan to use this sturdy little chair as a step stool in my pantry. She’s the perfect size, and is quite sturdy! Can’t wait to show you how I refreshed and reorganized our pantry. Am I the only one who geeks out over an organization project?
More Pink and Red Goodness!
I hope you all have the sweetest Valentine’s Day yet! Because I can’t send you all chocolate covered strawberries, I leave you with more pink and red color combo goodness……
Miles Redd forever! LOVE his style!
Do you prefer a blue red or an orange red with your pinks, and how do you decide? (That might be a good blog post for you.) I love how you pull this off so well.
