Christmas in Our Living Room

If you love holiday house tours as much as I do, you’re in for a fun online treat today! I’m joining another virtual Christmas house tour, and I’m sharing our living room Christmas decor! This tour was organized by Marty at A Stroll Thru Life. If you just popped over here from the last stop over at Alicia’s from Thrifty and Chic, welcome! Doesn’t Alicia’s holiday decor look so cozy? You can find the full list of stops on this tour at the bottom of this post.

This is our first Christmas in our new home and while I still have plenty of projects to attend to (still without window coverings – other than a taped up sheet – in our master bathroom), I wanted to pause all the other stuff and enjoy decorating our home for the holidays. But I wanted to keep it super simple.

So I skipped the garland and fresh greens all together this year. And instead busted out my bottle brush tree collection.

I just love all the art options available on this TV!

I love that we can enjoy the screen porch tree through the glass sliding doors!

But our living room also got her own tree. And this year I was inspired by Angela Chrusciaki Bleh’s black and white ribbons.

This might be one of my favorite Christmas trees I’ve ever done. I love the southern vibe the magnolia’s add, and this mix of blue, blush and gold against a flocked background is so pretty. But I mostly love the black and white striped ribbon I used as a tree garland! It’s a little weird and different ( like me 😉 ), and I’m here for it! 🙂

I let the striped ribbon just sort of fall where it wanted to and love the imperfect way it cascades down the tree. Makes it feel whimsical.
