January Favorites

Hello friends and happy Friday! I can’t believe it’s January 31st already, even if this was a really long month. Maybe I’m alone in this sentiment, but I just love the slowness January brings to the year! All the other months seem to fly by so fast, but January takes her sweet ol’ time. She walks to the beat of her own drum, and I very much appreciate that about her. Rather than waiting until the end of the year to share my favorite things, I thought a monthly recap might be fun. As a kid I always loved show and tell days. Sooooo, in that vein 😉 these are my favorite January things. Some are new discoveries and others were rediscoveries of old favorites.

  • Jacket weather is fleeting in Charleston, and we even had a few 70 degrees days this month! Don’t hate me. 😉 But on chilly days I fell back in love with this field jacket I’ve had for almost 4 years now. She’s the perfect non-bulky layer and makes every outfit look a little more chic.
  • This bust planter is a beauty I’m sure I’ll treasure forever! She’s gracing the shelf in my newly finished laundry room that I can’t wait to share with you all next Tuesday!
  • Abloom earrings. I love me a statement earring, but my old lady earlobes can’t handle anything too heavy. Ha! SO, I’ve fallen in love with Abloom (check them out on Instagram here). This handmade jewelry shop is run by the sweetest mother-daughter duo, and their pieces feel like wearable art! Plus, they’re super lightweight!

  • I found a great dupe for my beloved Salamandre Le Tigre print from one of my go-to Etsy shops for pillow covers. And it was a fraction of the price of the designer version! Animal prints are classic and chic, and this velvet is so luxe and chic.

  • My girl discovered a new clean beauty line for teens that has become a fast favorite of mine after checking into the ingredients and then being pleasantly surprised by the price point. Stranger Things fans, did you know that Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven) has created a beauty brand?! I applaud this young entrepreneur for bringing this clean, beauty line to the market!

Florence by mills is paraben and sulfate free with no added synthetic fragrances.

  • Speaking of clean beauty, THIS is my newest favorite product from Beautycounter. Y’all, I bought the Countertime Cleansing Oil last April and just this month needed to order another! One bottle literally lasted almost 10 months!!!!! And I use it every night and sometimes in the morning too! So while the initial investment of $49 feels like a lot for a facial cleanser, the real cost is about $5.50 per month! Plus it’s free from sulfates, parabens, phthalates and synthetic fragrance. AND it’s responsibly packaged in glass and looks pretty on my bathroom counter. It removes all my makeup, even eye makeup, and doesn’t strip the natural oils from my skin. It’s like having a spa experience at home, and my skin feels amazing (never tight) after washing. I seriously LOVE this Cleansing Oil so much that I not only reordered it for myself, but I also bought one to take to a Favorite Things party with my girlfriends!

  • Last not least, if you haven’t seen Troop Zero yet, add it to your must watch list. I watched with my teenagers, and we all loved it! This story is as much about dealing with grief as it is about owning who you are and what makes you uniquely you. I just loved this bunch of characters so much!
