New, Old Rug & Thrift Club Giveaway!

I’ve been on the hunt for a larger rug for the library since we moved into our new home (our seventh house) last October. The right size rug is everything in a space! But I didn’t want to rush the purchase, and I wanted something vintage. So I kept checking Facebook Marketplace, local consignment stores, and antique shops. Patience is definitely a virtue when it comes to shopping second-hand, but it’s so worthwhile.

A few months ago I joined Gwen’s (The Makerista’s) Thrift Club. It’s a subscription-based private Instagram account where Gwen shares all her tips, tricks, and thrift shopping trips for just $20 a year! And there’s also a Thrift Club Facebook group for members that provides so much community support! I’ve gained so much thrifting knowledge over the past couple of months. And I really feel like being apart of this club has upped my thrifting game!

Thanks to Gwen’s helpful tips I finally scored (and totally bargained for) the large Karastan vintage rug of my dreams at a local estate sale a couple of weeks ago. It is absolutely perfect for the library! I’m so in love!

Joining Thrift Club has been one of the best things I’ve done this year! And in fact, I’ve enjoyed it so much that today I’m giving away 5 yearly Thrift Club memberships to a handful of lucky Our Fifth House readers!

Entering this giveaway is easy! Simply sign up for my weekly email by entering your email address below and clicking the Sign Up button.

If you’re already signed up for my weekly emails, leave a comment telling me about your favorite thrifted find. Mine is now a toss-up between this gorgeous second-hand rug and this brass trunk I scored years ago at a consignment store. The vintage pieces are almost always the pieces I treasure most!

I’ve always been drawn to interiors that have a good mix of old and new, so I’ve always loved shopping second-hand. And now more than ever it feels important to shop small, shop local, shop smart, and shop safely. I really appreciate the way Thrift Club encourages giving new life to old things.

The library still has a ways to go, but I’m so happy to have “get a large vintage rug” knocked off this list!

I’ll email the 5 winners on Friday! Good luck!
