When things are heavy, I appreciate light-hearted, simple pleasures. And for me, nothing brings a smile to my face or warms my heart more than hearing about someone’s favorite things.
My second-grade teacher, Mrs. A, decorated her classroom in a Care Bear motif. I absolutely LOVED her and her classroom! In fact, I think it was in her classroom that I subliminally learned about the role that decor plays in our moods and in our lives. She always said, “Showing and sharing is caring.” And every Friday she’d utter those words just before we all went around the room for show and tell.
The world has felt really, really, devastatingly heavy lately, so in honor of one of my favorite teachers, I’m showing and sharing today.
1. These makeup brushes not only give you the smoothest application, but they’re really easy to clean too! I’m especially fond of the concealer brush. It’s like magic, as it seems to make my concealer blend in seamlessly. Big fan! And I’ve tried some more expensive, similar-looking brushes (that a lot of influencers have raved about) recently, and these brushes blow them out of the water! Bonus?! This set of 3 is just $17!
2. Please tell me I’m not the only person under the age of 80 that loves an Almond Joy? The Halloween-treat-sized ones are my FAV! But they’re not exactly healthy. I recently discovered these Dark Chocolate Almond Coconut Kind bars while shopping for school snacks for my kids, and I’ve fallen in love. They’re like a healthier version of an Almond Joy! So yum!
3. Yes, I love me some Pumpkin Spice, but this Maple Pecan flavor is a LOT of right! Trust me. And thank me later. Get you some!
4. Have you heard of a Spatty? I was introduced to this amazing cosmetic tool by a friend of mine. And it. is. genius! You know how you’ll get to the end of a bottle of foundation or moisturizer, as in when you push the pump down nothing more comes out of the bottle even though you can see that there is still more product left in the bottle? So you screw off the cap, and you turn the bottle over like a glass ketchup bottle and try to pound your palm in an attempt to get the rest of the product out of the bottle but nothing comes out. Well, the Spatty solves this problem! It’s a tiny spatula that fits into the small bottle opening and scrapes out the rest of your product, so you don’t waste a single drop! Seriously, it’s so smart! I feel like everyone should have one!
5. You know how I just got a new (ivory-colored!) rug for our living room? Well, one of our dogs threw up on it a week after it arrived. Is that not always how it works?! It’s like dogs have some kind of new rug radar or something. Anyhow, I used this Puracy Pet Stain & Odor Remover, and I am flat out astonished at how well it worked! You all, I kid you not, it’s incredible! There is no stain. It’s completely gone as if it never even happened! I’m so shocked that I feel like Puracy should hire me to do infomercials for them because I wouldn’t have to act at all. 😉 Seriously, if you’re a pet owner, I feel like you need this.
