Continuing on with the Christmas home tour, today I’m sharing our living room decked for the season!

*More about our Samsung Frame TV and decorative frame here.
In keeping with my “simple and easy” Christmas decorating mantra this year, I really didn’t do much decorating in our living room. I focused on the mantel and then sprinkled a few other touches of red around the room and called her done. And I have to say, I’m into it. I think this might actually be my favorite mantel I’ve ever done!

These clip-on glass vases might be my best find of the season! I was skeptical when I purchased them, unsure if they’d hold water without leaking. But to my surprise, they work perfectly! And I love that they’ve allowed me to easily add fresh florals to this mantle scape!

The mantel is layered with fresh greens, faux magnolia leaves, felted garland (found at Trader Joe’s), sweetgrass flowers (made by local artisans), battery-operated string lights, fresh poinsettias (thanks to my new clip-on glass vases), and in the center is a sweet, little wooden nativity I found at the craft store last year.

This vintage needlepoint Christmas tree pillow is another new find this season thanks to Etsy! If you’re into needlepoint pillows, check out this shop!

Our living room Christmas tree is filled with a mix of collected and handmade ornaments. My tree topper broke when I was pulling out all our ornaments this year, so we’ve got a simple black and white striped ribbon. And clearly, I’m not one to wrap empty boxes for the sake of blog photos, and so far, I’ve wrapped just one gift. Gift bags anyone?! 😉

I know open concept homes aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I especially love our floor plan around the holidays. I can set up just one tree, and we can enjoy it from the living room, kitchen, dining room, and screen porch! Multiple birds with one tree is my holiday decorating jam. 😉

And last but not least, to add in a few more pops of red and sprinkle a little Christmas cheer all the way around the space, I added a couple of mini wreaths that I made to the lamps on the sideboard.

They’re just garland pipe cleaners tied with a red satin bow, and then I used some long ornament hooks to hang them from the switch turners. So easy, and this is one of my favorite little details! They make this sideboard look so sweet.

These little wreaths are a fun add-on to gift boxes as well! Or bags. 😉

If you’re looking for more uber-simple Christmas decorating, check out my front porch and entry. And if a tour of Christmas trees sounds like a good time to you, start with my super, ridiculously easy, basically naked covered porch tree and then continue the virtual tour of trees from there!
How would you describe your holiday decorating style? Does it change from year to year?
