I made a little, barely noticeable change in the kitchen this week, and I’m absolutely loving it so much! Little details in design are always my favorite….but they tend to take me the longest to execute.
The reason I chose the Imbrie Articulating Sconce from Rejuvenation for over the kitchen windows is because these shades could easily be replaced or swapped out to create a different look. And I really loved the idea of swapping out the brass shades ( that I had on these sconces) for a blue that would match the island and pantry door.
So when I bought these sconces I bought a second set of shades in matte black with every intention of painting them blue one day. But one day took three years. 😉
I’m so happy I finally got around to busting out my paint sprayer and crossing this little item off my design to-do list because I love the blue shades so much more than the brass! I love the way this brings this shade of blue (Hurricane Blue from the Duron Collection for Sherwin Williams) all the way around the space in a really subtle, yet totally intentional way.
It’s such a small design detail, but I love it so much! And I wish I’d swapped these shades out sooner because I feel like the blue shades are the cherry on top.
