Well, friends, if you’ve been following along via Instagram Stories, then you already know today’s finish line for the New Year New Room Refresh Challenge is not quite the end of my dining room refresh because I ran out of wallpaper! Against my better judgment, I did not order the extra roll of wallpaper I always recommend. Sooooo….. I’m awaiting another roll of paper…..but in the meantime, today, I’m celebrating PROGRESS! Because this striped grasscloth wallpaper by Eti’enne on Spoonflower is absolutely gorgeous, and the few small changes I’ve made so far have made quite an impact!

Painting the grasscloth on the ceiling this lovely shade of blue really softened and brightened the space so much! Even on a gloomy day like today, this room still feels so light and airy! But as much as I love the ceiling color change, I feel like this striped grasscloth wallpaper is the special something this room was missing. I can’t get over how much the windows pop now as the paper really shines a light on the beefy trim work.
While I’ve been impatiently waiting on more wallpaper, I scored a couple of vintage treasures this weekend! I’ve been on the hunt for a piece of furniture for this spot for years now, and two days ago the perfect piece in the exact right dimensions basically fell into my lap via Facebook Marketplace. I can’t wait to style her up once I finish wallpapering.
But what I’m most excited about are the alabaster and marble lamps that have been on my thrifting wish list for many years!
I love how they look on the lucite and glass console table. Still not quite done styling this piece, but this progress is making me happy!
I can’t believe another New Year New Room Refresh Challenge has come to an end. While I didn’t technically cross the finish line this time, I’m still counting this as a win. And hopefully, very soon I’ll be back to share the final reveal. In the meantime, I’ll be tracking this wallpaper order. 😉
