To Buy or DIY: Pleated Lamp Shades

Lighting is everything, and a good lampshade is a design detail that brings a lot of bang for the buck. And I think pleated shades bring the perfect dose of timeless, classic design to a space!

Last spring when I switched from plain white drum shades to patterned, pleated shades in my bedroom it made a huge impact.

It’s such a small, seemingly insignificant design detail, but the difference these shades made can’t be overstated.

They brought a custom, classic feel to the room and made these lamps look super high-end.

I bought those shades from a local boutique last year, but I rounded up a bunch of really great pleated lampshades at a range of prices.

Number 10 is an absolute steal! And number 11 comes in at just $20 and is such a good classic white pleated lampshade! I have it on this lamp in my guest room.

So many great options to buy, but of course, you could always go the DIY route. And even if you don’t know how to sew, you can still get the pleated lampshade look with this tutorial I shared last week.
