Every time I share this little hallway on Instagram, my DMs are flooded with questions about the custom house portraits I have hanging on this wall. I had them made a few years ago, and unfortunately, the local artist who did them no longer offers them.
I’m such a big fan of letting the walls in your home tell your story, and I think custom house portraits are just so special, no matter how many times you’ve moved. 😉 I did a little digging around, as I still want to have a portrait made of our current home, our seventh house, and I found a few artists online who are offering handmade custom pieces.
There are quite a few Etsy shops that offer digital, computer-generated portraits, but I prefer those that are made by hand. Original custom pieces are a little pricier, but they are special treasures that will become heirloom pieces one day.
All of the following artists offer beautiful, handmade, custom house portraits, each with their own unique style.
1. Stacy Zeledon – She offers house-only or full-scene hand-painted watercolor portraits. And her current turnaround time is about 8 weeks.
2.Megan Bakke of Every Thread – Megan offers custom house ink drawings as well as watercolor paintings. And she offers them in a nice variety of sizes and will even do the framing. In addition to house portraits, she does custom wedding artwork as well. According to her current shop announcement, she’s working on a 2 to 3-week turnaround timeas but notes that this timeframe increases closer to the holidays.
3.Portraithy Art – This group of artists offers custom oil paintings made from any picture. And they’ll do them in an incredibly wide range of sizes from as small as 8 x 10 inches to as large as 48 x 55 inches. Their current turnaround time is between 3 to 4 weeks depending on where you live. And just look how amazing this piece below turned out!

4.Anitra Edney – Anitra offers hand-drawn pen and ink custom house doodles, and her work is priced very affordably. However, she only offers an 8 x 10-inch size. Her current turnaround time is 2 to 3 weeks.
5.Jordan Tillman – This artist offers handpainted watercolor house portraits in 3 size options, and her current turnaround time is about 3 weeks.

I’m trying to decide if I want to get our seventh house portrait done in black and white like all of the others or if I want to do it in color. What are your thoughts?
Good morning Carmel! Although the color paintings are pretty but so differnent than what you already have. I think I would stay with the black and white pictures. You may want to hang thiem differently one day and they will all go together.
