I had so much fun decorating our home for Christmas this year! As always, I kept it simple but festive. Come on in; let me give you a little tour! *(Linking sources at the end of this post.)
I had our front porch ceilings painted blue (Hurricane Blue from the Duron Historic Collection for Sherwin Williams) right before Thanksgiving, and I just LOVE how they look! It’s such a subtle but impactful change, and bonus, I think this blue will be much easier to maintain than the previous white. But, the best part is the way the blue makes all of the decorative touches pop!
Like I said, simple…
but festive!
Love me some Santa hat stickers!
Notice anything new in the living room?!
I’m so beyond thrilled with my new leopard print sofa! Ordered her in July and she was just delivered a few weeks ago. Merry Christmas to me! 😉 (Full sofa review coming soon! Stay tuned!)
I love a holiday shelfie! Get a closer look here.
Check out my favorite lamp hack here.
Maybe it’s the empty nester in me, but I just couldn’t resist getting the dogs some festive toys this years.
My dried orange garland from last year looks just as great this year!
Our main tree is always a collected tree filled with keepsakes and handmade ornaments. This year my girl and I made shell-tree ornaments, and they turned out so sweet! Speaking of shells, I have a really fun DIY involving LOTS of shells that I’m looking forward to tackling in January!
I never do much in our dining room. But this year I added a little holly garland to the chandelier and popped some old brass horse ornaments (from our Lexington days) on the lamps.
The kitchen is always a space where I like to add a few festive touches as I feel like I spend more time in the kitchen in November and December than any other month. And my go-to is fresh poinsettias. They’re inexpensive, last all winter long (well beyond December), and don’t need to be stored (insert praise hands).
I like to cut them and put them in bud vases all around my home.
Because my morning coffee is always my favorite moment of the day, I always look so forward to adding in a little holiday decor in my pantry aka the home of my coffee machine.
This year, for the first time ever, I decorated our bedroom for Christmas. I blame empty nesting, but honestly, why did I wait so many years to do this?!
This little nutcracker candle was super easy DIY! So easy in fact I probably shouldn’t call it a DIY.
Okay, normally, as those who know me well know, I take all of our Christmas decor down on the 26th or at the latest the 27th of December. I start early, so I’m typically ready. But this year I *think* I just might leave these trees in our home library and attached screen porch up until the end of January!
I didn’t decorate these trees. I mean, the flocked tree inside has a tree topper on it as you can see. But, they don’t have any ornaments on them. SO, they were SO easy to set up, and I just LOVE sitting in here with the twinkle and glow of these dueling trees!
Like Taylor says, we can leave the Christmas lights up ’til January. This is our house; we make the rules.
Speaking of trees that were easy to set up, I couldn’t resist this sweet, little 4 ft. tree and had to get it for my girl’s bedroom. I wanted to add a little something special to my college kids rooms this year.
I don’t know how many more Christmases I’ll get with them sleeping under my roof on Christmas Eve, so I gave their rooms a simple, holiday sprucing.
Without question, this lighted Santa (from Lowe’s) has been the best new addition this year!
He inspired me to use colored lights for the first time ever!
And I love them so much, I don’t think I’ll ever go back to all white!
I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!
Thank you for sharing!! Everything is just so fun and festive, really love the Santa on the porch!
