Listen, there are Christmas lights, and then there are good Christmas lights. And I’m pretty sure you know the ones I’m talking about…they’re the warm, glowy ones that make your house feel like a Hallmark movie. The exact opposite of the blue-white LEDs that look like an alien invasion and actually make your eyes hurt. And honestly, it’s not just about aesthetics. Good Christmas lights don’t just look better, they feel better. And you know I’m all about the vibes!

Admittedly, I’m the self-appointed president of the 2700 kelvin fan club. I even dedicated part of the lighting chapter in If These Walls Could Talk to my love for warm lighting. So, I’m sure it comes as no surprise I have big opinions about Christmas lights. Naturally, I had to round up my favorites! Consider this your official Warm & Nostalgic Christmas Lighting Guide. Trust me, these are the lights that will wrap your home in a soft, holiday hug this season.

- Without a doubt, the GE String-A-Long incandescent lights are twinkle light perfection! These clear lights are what warm white dreams are made of, but the colored lights truly have my Gen X heart. And a strand of 100 is just $5.98!
- However, if you’re more of a C9 fan, I highly recommend the Holiday Living Warm White LED string lights. The retro style paired with a decorative crystal-like bulb gives a classic look.

- But if you’re looking for twinkle lights that come on a transparent/clear wire, you’ll want to immediately add these to your cart. These warm white LED string lights are waterproof, so they’re perfect for outdoor. And bonus, they have 13 lighting modes and a timer!

- Last but definitely not least, these solar-powered fairy lights I leave up on our front porch swing year round! Eight modes, waterproof, and did I mention solar-powered?! They’re seriously awesome!
No matter if you’re into all white, colored lights, or a mix of both, if you’re going for a classic Ralph Lauren Christmas or a kitschy, nostalgic vibe, so long as you steer clear of cool white lights you’re golden. Just say no to cool whites, and you’ll have yourself a merry little Christmas. 😉

Do you have big opinions about Christmas lights or are you normal? 😉

Definitely in the warm white light camp. I’ve also started leaning towards the ones that twinkle. Especially for my outdoor winter planters.
