A Beautiful Mess

What you mean you don’t want to pin this?  ðŸ˜‰

I’m in this season of life where the things I have/want to do far out number the hours I have to make them happen.  Plain and simple, my life is messy.

However, it’s a beautiful mess, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Number one on my to-do list is hanging out with the crazies.

The most important thing you can do in life is  – LOVE ONE ANOTHER.  If you’ve loved on your people today, then you’ve done enough!

  • What a great post! And perfect timing because I feel like the Tazmanian Devil today, running around like crazy already. Well at least I loved all over my babes before they went off to school today!

  • This is the best post!!! We all need to be reminded from time to time-to stop and enjoy (while I sit at my computer with cheetos crunched up underneath my feet and a pile of dirty dishes in the sink).
And I agree with Rasonda that room is still beautiful.

  • I am going to pin this, as well as share it on my blog! You are such a sweetheart and you have the most beautiful children and home! I really love your website.

  • Carmel, just started following your blog last month. And I absolutely LOVE this it!! I was so inspired by White Beauty, that we now have "Blanca" hanging on our fire place! Also love that you are a KY girl, like me! Found you on Pinterest while looking for design ideas for my vaulted family room. I love everything about your house and design! I also adored the post on letting your Geek flag fly! I may or may not have named my son, Sam after a particular, loyal character from Lord of the Rings. 🙂

  • Ha! Love it, it's reality and we all deal with it. My pictures of my house may look nice on my blog, but in reality, you should see it after my 2 year old goes to bed at night! Yikes!!!!

  • Haha. And I do LOVE it and I do want to PIN that picture…it is raw and honest. Many of our lives are messy too (um-mine definitely is) and I agree—Loving on our family must come first. 🙂

  • Thank You! My very favorite post I read all day!! Its so important to keep perspective in this crazy life we sometimes try to keep.

My "baby" just turned 18yrs old on Monday, and the other will be 15 soon. I am so glad I was able to enjoy all those moments and not stress too much about the wadded up socks that sat in his doorway for a week! All too soon, those socks will be gone and then I will be sad.

  • oh yes ma'am. This is my life. I swear I spend my whole life cleaning up rooms in this exact state and never have time to do the things I want to make them pretty. I just remind myself (and my husband) that quality time playing on the floor with the babies is worth more than a perfect room!
