No Matter How Old

Babe,
someecards.com - Congratulations on not being remotely young enough to be picked for the Hunger Games
The best thing about your birthday is that no matter how old you get I’ll always be seven years younger.  ðŸ˜‰
I love you like a love song.
Thanks for always making people believe that I’m the better half when we both know you are.
Can’t wait to celebrate 41 with you on Saturday!  You’re like a fine wine babe.  You just keep getting better with age.  ðŸ˜‰
I’m sarcastic a lot, and I’m rarely serious.  I almost never talk about my feelings, but the truth is, I just don’t know how to say how I feel.  I’m infinitely blessed to be your wife.  I don’t know what I did to deserve this life, but I’m forever grateful to be by your side.  You make ordinary days extraordinary.  You make me laugh every day.  I love you, but what’s even better – I like you!  You’re a great husband and a wonderful dad.  I watch you with our children and my heart is full.  Being with you is the best adventure ever!
Happy Birthday!  We won’t bother with candles this year.  I don’t want to have to call the fire department.
Love,

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRAD!!!!!!! We love you down here in NC!!! Have a great day. Make sure you don't eat any vegetables today, only cake!!!!! Get your fork on! Love and Kisses

  • Hmmm. What to say? 41 is here. What was I? 27 when we met at the soccer game? We have had our share of: ups and downs, houses, vacations, storms(including hurricanes), cars, useless pieces of crystal from work, good sales years, bad manager years(I'm looking your way Lexmark-(Hi Soluris..ya feel me?), shopping trips, awesome days with the kids, trying days with the kids, and a bunch of other things.

Through all of this, I try to always keep one thing in mind: I looked the hottest girl I could find. Over and over I looked for her. Then I found her. God is funny, though. He gave me the sweetest one.

So, before I get all emotional, which I'm doing right now and you're in another room only 20 feet away, I want to remind you of some things. We are stuck together. We can't get rid of each other. Ever. Just the way it is. So, remember these things:

    1. I still have cowboy boots. That I WEAR.
    2. I still drive a Saab.
    3. I can still dance like its my job. It might be my job one day. I gots to pay them bills.
    4. I don't play flag football anymore. Thanks for that curse.
    5. I'm not fat. Yet.
    6. I can eat a whole bag of those little donuts. (see #5)
    7. The hair is in a holding pattern. Thank God.
    8. I still love Star Wars.
    9. I still love Elvis Costello music.
    10. I will always love you and the kids. Always.

  • Such a touching and funny post, Carmel!! …And then there's your sweet man's response above. He's a keeper!
You two sound like you have found the secret!!

Hope you have many, many, many, more years of happy birthdays together!!
    Have a fabulous weekend!
    xo-Lisa

  • That is SO SWEET. My husband is 5 years older than me, and I love it (especially the annoying habit of, "I don't remember that song/movie/toy/game, I was ONLY…") Thanks for the great post to kick off the weekend.

P.S. People still drive Saabs? 😉
