You’ve seen this little corner of my basement before, but it looks a little different now.
I recently made a few tweaks to my time out corner…………aka my mom cave.
I use this little corner space an awful lot for writing blog posts, drinking coffee and flipping through magazines. It’s my happy place for sure!
Over time I realized that I needed a larger side table. Sometimes you don’t really know what a space is going to need until you start using it – ya know? I opted to stack a couple of vintage suitcases to use as a side table. Perfect solution for this spot in particular because of the shape of the chair and it’s proximity to the floor – it sits kinda low. The bonus is that I now have some hidden storage for my hoards of magazines and catalogs!
I also decided to make some frames to display my favorite instagram pics instead of just washi-taping them to the wall as I had been doing. These fun frames were super easy to make, and they make changing the pics on display a breeze.
I love the way they pick up on the wood tone of the chair legs.
I spend a great deal of time in this cozy corner. I’m one happy momma when I’m curled up in this spot. Every mom deserves a little slice of home pie that is just for them. You don’t need a whole room (although it would be nice); all you need is a comfy place to sit, a side table and a few creature comforts.
Do you have a mom cave? Are you eyeballing any under-used corners in your home now?
I have my chair! Sure wish I'd have an entire corner like you or even my own room. Love this cozy little corner and all the unique touches, so you!
