During the summer I find that my diy/craft/home improvement time is somewhat limited. Mainly because when the weather is beautiful I’d pretty much rather be pool side or riding bikes or walking the dogs or well, I’d rather just be enjoying the season with my family. So I very much enjoy quick projects I can bust out in about 5 minutes or so, fulfilling my need to create but not taking up too much of my precious family time. And this my friends is how the new “got 5 minutes?” series was born. Over the summer from time to time, I’ll be sharing some super simple 5 minute projects. Because we all have 5 minutes right?
This first one is easy, easy, easy! My son is crazy for his new lego push pins!
I hesitate to even call this a “diy” project. However, I did in fact glue the legos to the push pins all by myself. 😉 My favorite crafting glue is E6000. It works so well for things like this. I highly recommend it! You can find it everywhere too – from your local pharmacy to the craft store – it seems to be sold everywhere. For these push pins you literally just add a little dab of glue to the back of the pin and stick it to the lego. I let them dry overnight and by morning they were ready to go to work.
They look really cute (although don’t let him hear you call them “cute”) in his desk area next to his lego lamp.
You can use thumb tacks to make these as well, and if legos aren’t your thing maybe try wine corks or vintage earrings. I love a simple 5 minute project! Don’t you?!
Those are adorable! Such a fantastic idea. I have to ask you though, do you have any problems getting those cork boards to continuously adhere to the wall. Mine keep falling down. 🙁
