I’m currently loving pom poms and tassels…………on everything…………….as seen here, here and here. I just can’t help myself. So obviously I needed to add some pom poms and tassels to my Christmas tree this year. I can’t wait to show you the pom poms, but first let’s talk about the tassels.
These are literally the easiest tassel ornaments you can make. I mean, I kind of probably shouldn’t even call this a “diy” but hey, there is some assembly involved. You can literally make like 3,000 of these little guys while watching The Voice…….ask me how I know? 😉 The pictorial below will walk you through.
Do you see how easy these are?! Even if you’ve already decked out your tree you could still add a few of these little cuties. (Little tip: The best deal on tassel trim is at Hobby Lobby. That’s where I purchased this burlap tassel trim, and they have lots of other options at great prices.) These tassels would also be adorable as gift package add-ons or used as napkin rings on your holiday table! The options are endless really. You could even attach a little jump ring (found in the jewelry department of any craft store) and make wine glass charms!
Being a book nerd I decided to string two tassels together and make a sweet little bookmark.
These tassel bookmarks would make great gifts for your book club friends.
I love how easy these are to make! Deconstructing a tassel trim is a whole lot easier than making tassels from scratch, and with Hobby Lobby’s low prices I think this might even be a less expensive alternative. Either way I’m clearly tassel obsessed. Am I alone?
Yes, they WOULD make great gifts for YOUR book club friends. 😉 Just kidding.
But I love your tassels. I used a cheap matelasse bedspread to make pillows once, but cut off the tasseled trim and saved it (for years.) I should get that out and make some ornaments!
