ORC Week 4 – Girl’s/ Guest Bath Progress Update

It’s week 4 of the One Room Challenge, and while I’ve finally nailed down all of the design decisions, I’ve now got a hefty load of work to do this weekend!  Time to roll up the sleeves…..quite literally.

Painting Progress

More often than not a design project gets ugly before it starts to get pretty.  But I’ve just started painting the bathroom vanity, and I’m already in major love!  Just one coat and it’s already a game changer.  This color is so fun!  I can’t wait to finish painting!

I’m using Amy Howard Home’s Vintage Affliction.  It’s a pretty shade of turquoise/teal that adds in a nice dose of personality.  It works well with the artwork and flows perfectly with the color palette in the guest bedroom.

Cabinet Hardware & Faucets

I’m going with chrome cabinet hardware that has modern lines (from Lowe’s), and I can’t wait to see these gorgeous faucets installed!

I like that the modern faucets and hardware balance out the whimsical vanity color and artwork.  They bring in a clean, masculine aesthetic and will give the vanity more of a custom look.

To Do List

My list of things to do is still very long, and we’re just 2 weeks away from the reveal.

  • Finish painting vanity
  • Install faucets
  • Paint the walls (Sherwin Williams Aesthetic White)
  • Frame out the mirror
  • Replace the lighting (Thanks for all your help with that decision!)
  • Make a window cornice
  • Hang art, accessorize and style

I’m really hoping to check a lot of these items off my list this weekend!  After our spring break trip and taking my daughter to a dance competition last weekend, I’m looking forward to a weekend at home in my paint clothes!  Feel free to follow the progress over on my Instagram stories.  And also be sure to check in with the designers as well as the other participants progress in this challenge!   The very best thing about the One Room Challenge is the motivation it provides!  I’m so happy to finally see this bathroom getting a little love!

And if you want to get caught up with my girl’s/guest bathroom makeover design project check out these Week 1, Week 2, and Week 3 updates.
