Well friends, my first time participating in Calling It Home’s One Room Challenge is ending in a big ol’ womp womp. The wallpaper I ordered to install on the headboard wall has yet to be delivered. (See the full design plan here.) However, it is on the way to my house. So hopefully some time next week I’ll be ready to share our finished guest bedroom. Fingers crossed anyway! Today, I’m sharing some progress pictures. Even though I wasn’t able to get her done in the 6 week time frame, I’m still much further along than I would have been had I not decided to take on this challenge. So I’m still going to call this a win!
Guest Bedroom Progress
Last week I installed the light fixture and got some help from my 12 year old in putting the bed together. This week I put the bedding on and added in a few other design elements.
If you’ve been following this challenge from the very beginning you may remember that I picked up this large scale buffalo print duvet set on clearance at Bed, Bath & Beyond. It was sold out for a while, but it looks to be available online again!  I love the juxtaposition of the masculine buffalo plaid against the tufted, curvaceous upholstered headboard.
(rug, pillows, desk, lamp, bedding, bed, art, light fixture)
I just love this red bed! And I can not wait to see it up against the patterned wallpaper! The teal blue canvas you see over above the red bookcase was an Etsy digital download that I purchased and had printed on canvas via Shutterfly.
Since guests will be sharing a bathroom with my daughter, I’m using a desk that can double as a vanity for a night stand on one side of the bed. For the other side I brought in a small accent table and floor lamp. I spray painted the dark bronze base of the lamp black to better coordinate with the space.
I’ll be so glad when the wallpaper finally arrives, so I can finish this room just in time to host guests for the holidays!

You did an amazing job already. I can’t wait to see wallpaper!
