Hey friends! I’m just popping in today to share a little screen porch progress. As you might recall I’ve decided to add some finishing details to our porch to make the space feel more finished. Details are my favorite part of a space, and I often like to take my time with them. But after living in our new house for almost a year (can’t believe how fast time is flying!), I’m ready to start bringing some of the ideas that have been swirling around in my head to life. And the first was to bring in a console table!

Our porch is a long rectangle and the other side of this seating area is a dining table, so I wanted to bring in a console table to help to visually separate those two areas. Originally, I had plans to build a console table, but then I stumbled across this one (which was on sale at the time) at Target and I ditched my building plans. 😉

The dimensions were perfect, and I LOVED the concrete top! But I wasn’t crazy about the wood tone, especially with all the other wood elements we already have in this space. But I knew that would be an easy fix.

Busted out some black outdoor paint, and boom – perfect! The concrete top ties in nicely with the stainless steel fireplace surround, and the black base breaks up all the wood tones as well as compliments the other black elements.

Now, can we talk about these outdoor lamps?! I’m head over heels for them! They are soooo gorgeous! I’ve had my eye on them for so long and was finally able to combine a sale with a gift card to make them mine. I love that they are made to be outdoors but look more like they’re meant to be inside.

These lamps really make this space feel so much more cozy! Their addition to our porch really transformed the vibe out here. It feels so much more like an extension of our living room now.
I plan to add some baskets and planters underneath to better hide the lamp cords, but it does help that the black table base matches the black lamp cords. So win-win on painting the table base!

This is my favorite spot to begin and end the day. And I’m looking forward to adding a few more finishing touches out here!
I totally get it! I am usually in my sunroom or on the patio in the mornings. At night, it’s funny, but since the pandemic, we have migrated to the front porch! LOL Most evenings you will find us out there till dark. I LOVE the table – looks great on your porch! Love that big brass bowl too!
