On the hunt for a pair of side tables for my living room, I stumbled across these beauties from Serena & Lily. Insert heart eyes emoji. But not only was the $998.00 per table price tag a little steep, but the tables were also just a tad too big.
But then I found this almost identical table at a fraction of the price and in the perfect size for my space! I couldn’t believe how good this dupe was for the price!
But I just couldn’t get the brass foot detail of the Serena & Lily table out of my head. Little details like that always leave the biggest impression on me, and I really loved the combo of the chic brass mixed with the texture of rattan. It’s those almost imperceptible design details that set something apart and make it feel special.
SO I did a little internet scroll……and found a roll of thin brass sheeting and decided to play around with an idea I had in my head.
The roll of brass sheeting was thin enough to cut with scissors but sturdy enough to wrap the feet of the table without tearing. It’s pliable like foil, but it’s much thicker. I cut the 4-inch roll into two 2-inch strips and used brass nails to hold it in place.
And I love how it looks!
Just three small brass nails on the back of each leg were all it took to hold it in place. The trick is to wrap the brass sheeting as tightly as possible before hammering in the first nail.
I liked the table before, but now I really love it! That simple brass detail elevates the style just a bit and makes it look even more like the Serena & Lily table.
And this was such an easy, inexpensive project!
