I spent some time this weekend cleaning up our front porch, wanting to give it a fall look without bringing in any pumpkins. I may be ready for all the pumpkin spice lattes, but as hot as it still is in South Carolina, I just can’t with pumpkins yet. Hopefully, October brings some cooler temps and inspires me to pick up a few. But until then, it’s all about the layers, textures, and lanterns for me!
I started with this fun, faux cowhide in lieu of a throw blanket, and I’m LOVING this look. The gold flecks add the perfect amount of glam to the rustic vibe.
But the real winners of this fall porch display are these gorgeous outdoor copper side tables/stools and these classic black lanterns! These tables not only double as stools, but they also provide some hidden storage! So if we get some heavy rains, I can pop my pillows and faux-hide inside to stay dry!
This is my absolute favorite time of year to read outside, so I’m really loving my new fall porch decor! It’s cozy and comfortable, and it’s definitely getting me in a fall mood.
While these layers definitely bring a fall vibe to our front porch, I love that all of these pieces can be used year-long. They’re not so seasonally specific that I can’t reinterpret them for winter or spring. That’s honestly what I love most about decorating with lanterns! They’re so versatile. I have LED candles in them now (which are operated via remote control!), but I can also fill them with pumpkins, pinecones, or ornaments! I just love that I won’t have to completely reinvent the wheel to give our porch a holiday makeover, you know?!
So this is my fall porch vibe right now, and I’m hoping the mums will bloom when I add some pumpkins to this mix. 😉
