One Room Challenge: Week 7 – Little Details

Helllooooooo friends! What a week! This week’s One Room Challenge update is a few days late as I’ve been in the black grout trenches feverishly trying to finish this project in time for the final reveal next week! And while I’m finally done grouting, thank goodness, I still have a lot of grout cleanup left to do. So today, I’m just popping in to share a few sneak peeks and some of the little design details that I’m loving so much. The details are always my favorite!

brass switch plate

I’m head over heels in love with this unlacquered brass switch plate!

black toilet seat

Not wanting to drill into the tile, I opted for a free-standing paper holder. This one is a little on the price-y side but so gorgeous and substantial. And I really love it paired with this black seat. It brings in a classic, vintage vibe.

peacock towel hook

I haven’t had a chance to install this beautiful peacock towel hook, but I can’t wait to see her against these plum walls!

I still have one more fun DIY planned for this little powder room makeover that I’m really hoping to tackle this weekend but I also need to hang the art and accessorize……and I still have more grout cleaning to do! As much as I LOVE the way the black grout looks, I will never DIY black grout ever again.

I even saved this picture on my phone as a reminder to myself if I ever think about doing this myself again. 😉

Be sure to check out how all of the other ORC participants are doing this last week before the big reveal next week.

  • I have the exact toilet paper holder in chrome. A suggestion, if I might. It looks like yours is on the left side? Ours is on the right side of the toilet. Unless you have alot of lefties, it might be a bit awkward to use on the left side. Just a thought!

  • This is cool! The whole orc I and of course the room! Now I’ve got to go check out what all the others are doing and catch up on everyone’s progress up until this point! The black grout may be a pain but it does look great! Cant wait to see the finished product reveal!
