Breaking News

It was a pretty typical weekend here in our fifth house.  I cleaned up a little more in the garage and actually found another treasure!

Seriously, crazy because I actually forgot that we even owned this watercolor.  Apparently we’ve just moved it from house to house but never hung it up in any of them?!  Anyhow,  I love it but the frame and matting needs help.

I’ve rearranged the furniture in the family room AGAIN!  After they finished the new floor I just had such a hard time putting everything back in the exact same place.  Anywho, I moved the wine bar to a different spot and what was on the wall here before was hung up with command strips of which one did this to my wall.

Be warned there is a magic touch you must have to remove those things without damaging your walls!  Long ridiculous-rambling story short, I want to try to reframe this picture in a frame large enough to cover that “boo-boo” without having to patch.  The walls are a satin finish which isn’t the easiest to touch-up.

That was obviously not breaking news, but we’re getting closer.  Stick with me.  I know it’s hard.  🙂  The other thing that happened here this weekend (that should be breaking news but isn’t) is that I tackled the laundry (just the laundry not the room).

This picture is so embarrassing, but I’m in the mood to keep it really real today.  😉  Oh, and yes that’s a Spongebob Snuggie – you know you want one!

I think I washed, dried, folded, and put away 25 loads.  Sad but true that barely made a dent.  How do you people think projects get done around here?!  Clean clothes are overrated!  HA!  Someday my laundry room will be beautiful and I’ll actually want to do laundry  – right?!

So after I made it out alive of the laundry jungle, the hub and I planned to do some yard work.  He said we’d get it done when he got home from his flag football game on Sunday.  Unfortunately, instead of a new well-manicured picture of the front exterior of our house…….we interrupt this blog weekend re-cap post to bring to you this breaking news.

The hubs broke his ankle during his flag football game.  Did I mention it’s his right ankle?  Yeah, so he can’t drive and is out of commission for 6-8 weeks!  Who’s gonna trim my shrubs now?  HA – kidding – obviously – ok – I’m partly serious.  🙂   He’s doing fine and I’m adjusting to my new roles of nurse and taxi driver.  I pretty much stink at both.  🙂  So did you get it?  – “breaking news”  – because of an ankle break.  Yes, I’m that ridiculous!

So how was your weekend?

  • Hi Carmel, Sorry to hear about the broken ankle. My husband is a golf Fanatic (yard work is left to gardeners or me, on occasion) – I do not know what I would do (he would drive himself and me crazy!). My kids would probably help me with simpler tasks.
