Fun in a Box

I decided to start cleaning out the garage yesterday.  It was giving me hives.  I was tired of coming home to see this hot mess upon arrival.

I felt kind of bad that I didn’t really have anything super fun for the kids to do.  It rained off and on so they couldn’t play in the sprinkler or ride their bikes.  Funny thing is, they still had the “best day ever”  – their words not mine.

They made cardboard box forts.  I cleaned out the garage to the sound of giggles.  Although I admit I had to play peacemaker a couple of times too.

It’s amazing how much I learn from my children.  Life is what you make of it.

  • i was so relieved to hear you say you had to play peacekeeper because i was thinking to myself my kids would have fun with that, too, but there would be fights at some point! 🙂 keepin it real, friend. 😉

  • Sometimes the simplest things make the best toys! If that is the before pic of your garage, it looks pretty good to me! I've got to get to my garage too…we can barely walk through it without tripping over bikes, scooters, rollerblades, etc.

  • Oh my gosh. I cant stand looking at my garage either. I need to clean it!!! I thought my husband would. Yeah right! Why is it soooo hard for our guys to clean stuff? I do not get it. Oh well. Glad your kids had fun.

  • Isn't it crazy how you can buy them all the fancy toys, but it's their imagination that brings them the most fun!
