My Five Favorite Skincare & Makeup Products from Beautycounter

What are your favorite, must-have Beautycounter products?  I get that question from people pretty regularly.  And with Beautycounter running a 15% off sitewide sale today I figured it was an especially great day to finally share a blog post featuring my absolute favorite don’t-want-to-live-without Beautycounter products.

Honestly, this is such a tough question to answer because I truly love so many of their products.  But if I had to narrow it down……..

Skincare Favorites

……my five favorite skincare products would have to be:

A couple months ago I shared  my daily skincare routine.  But of all the products I shared in that post these are the 5 that I would absolutely not want to go without.  These are my fab five, my skincare inner circle if you will.  😉

1. Charcoal Cleansing Bar ~ This is the Beautycounter product that started it all for me.  This bar of soap made me fall in love with Beautycounter.  It sounds crazy, but it’s true.  I struggled with breakouts for years until I added this Charcoal Bar into my daily rotation.  Formulated with Japanese binchotan charcoal it detoxifies and absorbs impurities in the skin without overdrying.  One bar will last up to 5 months with daily use.

2. Overnight Resurfacing Peel ~ I’ve referred to this product as a skincare game changer many times.  Formulated with 15 botanically-derived acids, this leave-on peel improves skin texture and minimizes the appearance of pores, fine lines, and dark spots without irritation or over-drying.  The best part is this Overnight Resurfacing Peel is formulated without the synthetic fragrances, PEGs, and formaldehyde-based preservatives that are commonly found in conventional peels.

I love this product so much that I always have an extra bottle of it on hand so that I never run out!

3. Rejuvenating Eye Cream ~ I had to laugh when I saw a quote posted on instagram recently that read “If you’re old enough to drink alcohol, you’re old enough to be using an eye cream.”  Ha!  But so true.  😉

This is the stuff y’all.  Made with protective jambu extract (aka nature’s botox) and skin-conditioning wild algae and caffeine, it diminishes the appearance of fine lines and reduces puffiness.

4. No.1 Brightening Facial Oil ~ I sing the praises of all three of Beautycounter’s facial oils, but right now the No. 1 is my favorite.  This proprietary blend of seven natural oils absorbs quickly and penetrates to awaken and replenish skin.  It’s the perfect boost of moisture, and I love adding a drop or two to my moisturizer.

5. Cleansing Balm ~ Ok, complete and honest truth here, this isn’t a ‘must-have’ in the traditional sense. I mean, I can live without this Cleansing Balm.  But I’d really rather not.  It’s just the most luxurious feeling cleanser I’ve ever used, ever!  It works so well to remove makeup, eye makeup especially, but it’s also such a multi-tasking product.  You can use it as an overnight mask as it hydrates with nutrient-rich raspberry and cranberry seed oils and promotes a brighter complexion with radiance-boosting vitamin C.  It’s incredible on cuticles and even on burns as well.

Just an all-around awesome balm, and I love that it comes in a travel size.  Perfect for anyone just wanting to try it before committing to the standard size.

Moving on to my 5 makeup favorites…….

Makeup Favorites

1. Dew Skin Moisturizing Coverage ~ It provides the perfect amount of sheer moisturizing coverage and bonus, it also has an spf 20!  But unlike many conventional BB and CC creams, you won’t find any toxic-chemical sunscreens in Beautycounter’s tinted moisturizer. Instead this boasts mineral sunscreen protection that is effective and safer.  I wear Dew Skin every. single. day.  My shade is No. 3.

2. Tint Skin Hydrating Foundation ~ I don’t wear this foundation every day, but when I do I layer it over the Dew Skin Moisturizing Coverage.  This is hands-down the best foundation I’ve ever used.  It’s formulated with sodium hyaluronate, a natural moisture magnet, that promotes smoother-looking skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.  This foundation provides a buildable coverage.

I use the Honey shade.

3. Brilliant Brow Gel ~ The newest product has quickly become a favorite of mine.  It’s like hair gel for your brows, which sounds weird but is so awesome.  It holds your brows in place and also conditions.  It comes in a few different colors, but I use the clear because I have such dark hair.

4. Illuminating Cream Highlighter in Bronze Glow ~ This color is so pretty, and these sticks are just so easy to use.  It gives you that dewy sun-kissed look so you always look like you just got back from vacation.  😉

5. Bellini Lip Gloss ~ I will forever and always love me a nude glossy lip!  And Bellini is the perfect every day shade.  Worn alone or over the top of any lipstick; it’s definitely my favorite lipgloss!

  • I’m pretty sold on the Overnight Skin Peel too! I am 68 years old and it really helps my skin be the best I think it can be. I also love Instant Glow Illuminating Cream. Together they work magic. I just happened to try these but I really wish Beauty Counter could have a way to test a product that has color to see what’s best for your skin. I wouldn’t mind the CC cream you use, but how do I tell which color to use? I have fair skin but it can be a little splotchy and red at times in areas and a CC product helps tone down the redness for me. Do you have a recommendation.

  • Isn’t that Overnight Peel amazing?! So glad to hear you’re loving it! The Dew Skin Moisturizing Coverage is fairly sheer so it’s pretty easy to choose a shade online. I would recommend the No. 1. The great thing is that Beautycounter offers a generous 60 day return policy and all shipments include a return label, so if the color isn’t quite right you can easily send it back.

  • Thanks for the recommendations Carmel,

I really like Beauty Counter’s ‘The Never List’ idea – it provides a lot of reassurance about their ingredients!

I love the look of their lipgloss! I like Bellini but I think I’ll go for the Opal shade.

I had a quick look at their lip gloss ingredients and I am really impressed! No lanolin oil (made from sheep’s glands) or carmine (made from crushed bugs) – great for vegans!

For any readers looking to go natural (or vegan), we recently posted a piece exposing some lip product ingredients to avoid.

Thanks again for sharing your Beauty Counter favorites, I’m going to add the lipgloss to my wishlist,

    Laura.
