It was such a tough decision, but after much debating and waffling and flip-flopping, B and I finally settled on a paint color for the exterior of our seventh house. And all my pink house dreams are coming true! 🙂
I’m in love! As you may remember we’d narrowed our options down to two different shades of pink – State Street Pink and Pink Mimosa. And I finally decided to go with State Street Pink.
*(Side note – They’re putting the roof on now………..I have no idea what these roofers make, but whatever it is it’s not enough! Yikes!)
As much as I really liked Pink Mimosa, I just couldn’t get over how bright it was. And I think that color on an entire house would have been too overpowering…..too island-y……not quite the overall vibe I was going for.
State Street Pink is much more subdued, but it’s still very pink as you can see. And now that it’s not swatched right up against the warmer, brighter Pink Mimosa, you can see that it really isn’t too purple at all, as I worried it might be. Colors really do read so differently when they’re compared right next to each other.
State Street Pink on its own is a really lovely shade of pink that is not too warm or too cool. And I am really happy with this choice!
I especially love it paired with the blue ceiling on the screen porch (SW Hurricane Blue).
I can’t thank you all enough for weighing in with your thoughts on this paint selection! You all had such great insight and suggestions, which really helped me (us) to make a decision. We’re both thrilled with the way things are shaping up here!
And now that the exterior is about finished, they’ll be moving on to the inside. That’s where the real fun will be! 😉
It looks beautiful! I love the color!
