I’m so excited to be participating in the New Year, New Room Refresh Challenge this year!
For this design challenge I’ve decided to tackle my laundry room, and if you saw my Instagram Stories over the holiday break you know I’ve already started working on the space.
The Design Plan
I had created a design plan for this small laundry space a couple months ago, but then I never got around to bringing it to life. Because there was just something about it that didn’t feel quite right. It was missing something. It felt a little too boring. But I couldn’t put my finger on what was missing.
And then, the grey clouds of design uncertainty parted and the sun shone brightly, the birds started chirping and I knew I’d finally found the missing fun factor for my laundry room when I stumbled across this absolutely gorgeous patterned wallpaper!
I’ve already started putting it up, and I’m obsessed! It’s so, so pretty in person. And this peel ‘n stick paper has been pretty simple to install too! I plan to share all the details as well as some installation tips here on the blog very soon!
The really fun thing about Spoonflower is that they offer so many different options! I also ordered this same floral print in a stunning velvet fabric, and I’ll be using it for another fun project in this space.
And this napoleonic bee print I ordered I plan to use on a lampshade!
This small room was pretty much a blank slate to start, and next week I can’t wait to show you the progress I’ve already made! It’s already looking so fun in here, and I’m not even close to done yet! I’m really looking forward to seeing everything come together and having a finished bold and beautiful space to do laundry in by the end of the month! My favorite part of a design challenge is the motivation to get her done! 😉
