Nothing says love like a room makeover, am I right?! 😉 Happy Valentine’s Day friends! I’m excited to announce that for the next three weeks I’ll be joining a few of my favorite design bloggers in a room refresh adventure! We’ll each be working on making over a space in our homes. But this is not about hardcore renovations; it’s about breathing new life into a space with small but impactful changes! And I’ve decided to take on our much-neglected master bathroom. Some of you may be thinking, “Why makeover a space when you’re building a new house and will be selling your home in a few months?” But that’s exactly why! I need to get this house “market ready”, and the good Lord knows our master bathroom could really use a little love!
The Before
These two pictures below are from the real estate listing of our house when we bought it almost 4 years ago.
But honestly, in four years time, not much has changed save for the fact that I replaced the vanity lighting last summer.
While there’s nothing overly dated or flat out ugly about our master bathroom, it is pretty lackluster. It’s basically one big, slightly boring beige box. And as compared to the rest of our home, this space feels like an afterthought. So I want to freshen it up and give it a little sparkle to make it more attractive to potential buyers.
The Design Plan
I plan to paint the walls Sherwin Williams Shoji White, a color I’ve used throughout the main living areas of our home. This color will flow really nicely with the grey walls in our master bedroom.
The inspiration for the design is this gorgeous abstract print from Minted! And I can’t wait to replace the overhead flush mounts with these beauties from Hudson Valley! They’re so gorgeous, really wish I could take them with me when we move. 😉
So now, I’m off to bust out the drop cloths and get my painting clothes on…..who wants to come help me cut in?
I’ll be back next Thursday with an update! In the mean time, go check out the spaces that all these amazing design bloggers are going to be refreshing!
