Chic & Pretty Laundry Room Design Plan

It’s go time friends! Get excited! 🙂 The laundry room won the popular vote for which space to decorate first when I asked you all for your thoughts a few weeks back. And now I’m ready to get started!

Here’s a look at the design plan.

I’ve long loved this print, and I can’t wait for it to get here! This one by Clare Elsaesser is one I’ve had for years, and I think it’ll play well with the other vintage pieces I’m bringing in (that aren’t pictured here).

My goal is for this laundry room to look so much like a room that you almost forget it has a washer and dryer (which by the way, I still love my Speed Queens). I want this little space to function well, but I really, mostly want it to be chic and pretty! And since I’m the real washer and dryer around here I feel like my design opinion is the only one that really matters in this case. 😉

These checkered floors definitely have my heart, and they’ve made for such a great jumping off point! Everything looks good with checkered tile floors!

My original thinking was that I’d leave these walls white, so that the white washer and dryer would almost disappear. But I’ve changed my mind because I really want the trim to pop more. With the wall and trim color almost matching you can’t appreciate how great the molding is in this space.

So I plan to paint the walls, but I’ll let the color I choose be a surprise! Any guesses? I’m hoping to get the walls painted and start building the floating shelf above the washer/dryer by next Monday! Wish me luck! Follow along on Instagram for behind the scenes progress.
