Hello friends! We’re one week away from our final reveals for the New Year New Room Refresh Challenge, and I still have A LOT of work to do! BUT, this hallway went from white to black, and I can’t love it more! And crossing this project off my to-do list was just the motivation I needed to spring into action and finish the rest of the projects I have planned!
Before Black Paint
After Black Paint
It’s obviously still a work in progress, but I LOVE THIS DRAMA so much!!!!! The color is Hitching Post Black from the Duron Historic Charleston Collection for Sherwin Williams, and it’s such a great true black. (I used this same color on the bottom half of the walls in our laundry room.)
The dark walls really allow the trim work to stand out, and even in the absence of natural light, it makes this hallway feel larger. Bust mostly I just love how this little hallway off the entry foyer now feels like it’s own space, yet still totally flows. It’s exactly what I was wanting. I wanted the hallway to feel special on its own but still feel connected. Mission accomplished, in my opinion!
And all it took was a couple of hours on a Saturday night, my favorite angled paint brush, a paint roller, and half a gallon of paint! Isn’t it amazing how much of an impact paint can have?! I’m always amazed by the power of paint! And now that these walls are painted, I’m ready to swap out the light switches for black ones and hang some art!
Can’t wait to share the final reveal of this hallway, the entry foyer, and the upstairs hallway next week!
Now be sure to check out the updates from all the other design creatives that are participating in this challenge!
