It’s week 2 of the New Year New Room Refresh Challenge, and I’m happy to report I’ve checked one item off my hallway to-do list! I painted the ceiling black over the weekend, and I love the drama it adds so much!

This isn’t my first black ceiling, and it likely won’t be my last. What can I say? The heart wants what the heart wants. 😉 And since the hallway connects our bedroom (where I have black grasscloth wallpaper on the ceiling) and our bathroom (where the vanity is black and the shower tile is black), it just felt right to paint this ceiling black.

I used Hitching Post Black by Duron for Sherwin Williams, the same black I used in the entry foyer hallway. And I think this black is going to make for a great backdrop for the marble flush mounts I’m bringing in to replace the can lights.

Next up, I hope to start tackling the box molding! I can’t wait to bust out my new toy!
Now head over to check out what everyone else is up to this week!
