Well, friends, I can hardly believe it, but it’s week five of the One Room Challenge! This means that there are just three more weeks until the final reveal, and I’m really hoping I’m able to get everything done in time. So far so good, but my to-do list is still quite long and of course, I’m waiting on some major deliveries! However, thankfully, the wallpaper is done! And it turned out even better than I dreamed it would! Long live the 5th wall!!!

I don’t want to give too much away just yet, so I’m just going to share a few sneak peeks today. But when I tell you that wallpapering the ceiling in our library was a gamechanger, I am not kidding! This one design element has completely transformed the overall vibe of the entire space.

This Fabricut wallpaper from Calico Corners is so gorgeous! It has a beautiful metallic finish that makes it appear almost as if it’s a handpainted. Honestly, pictures just don’t do it justice.

The light coming in the room from the large sliding glass doors sets this paper off and really makes it a highlight in the space. Now, the room feels so luxe yet so cozy at the same time.

I was worried with two stark white registers in the ceiling that it would be hard to make them blend in and not stick out like soar thumbs. This is often the biggest concern when considering papering a ceiling, but playing with three different spray paint colors did the trick just beautifully! Using satin gold, satin nickel, and matte black along with a very light hand, I was able to somewhat replicate the design and colors in the paper.

The registers blend in almost seamlessly, so this wallpapered ceiling can truly shine!

So grateful to Calico Corners for providing this wallpaper. This one element has dramatically elevated our library/media room and has made this space feel so unique and special.

What is the One Room Challenge?!
The ORC is an online interior design event, organized by Linda Weinstein, where 20 Featured Designers and hundreds of other Guest Participants transform a room of their choice in just 8 weeks. With Better Homes & Gardens as the media sponsor, this biannual challenge is always brimming with design inspiration. Not only does this event inspire and motivate, but it also creates a supportive creative community. I’m always blown away by the spaces created each season, so it’s an absolute honor to be counted as a Featured Designer this fall!
